Laundry Day Is Three Days
Cruising is about compromising. We have many luxuries aboard S/V Silver Girl: a LCD TV, a freezer, two bathrooms, and loads of water toys. A missing modern luxury: a washer and dryer.
We're resourceful though and for the right price, just about any service can be purchased while cruising. This weekend's service was laundry. Luckily, a lovely Cuban woman from Santa Marta was willing to accept the duty.
She took both heaping bags, a portion of our Tide and the promise to return the articles in two days. Yep, two days to take the clothes to a neighboring town, hand wash them, line dry them, fold them and return them to the marina.
On the third day we took back our clothing in exchange for $10 CUC.
We finished off the drying process.
